SSG Now - OCZ Storage Solutions rolls out new PCIe SSD, caching software
March 04, 2014
"The new drive uses 19 nanometer (nm) MLC NAND Flash and features a robust architectural design covering three models of 800GB, 1.6TB and 3.2TB usable capacities. Each Z-Drive features eight SandForce SF-2582 control processors, as well as circuitry to perform well in today’s data centers that operate at higher ambient temperatures."
“Our Take: We are pleased to see the continuation of the OCZ brand and technology as part of Toshiba. The SSD business has seen a dramatic consolidation during the last year and it is not surprising that much of the acquisition activity has been by Flash foundry owners and major hard drive manufacturers Seagate and Western Digital. -- James E.
